When you form a limited company, you need to provide a service address (sometimes referred to as a correspondence address) for each director, shareholder, secretary (an optional appointment) and person with significant contol.

Companies House, and other government bodies (such as HMRC) will then use this address as the contact address for said role.

Whilst using a home address as the service address is permitted, it is not recommended as it is placed on the public register, meaning anyone can easily find it.

By using this service you can protect your address from the public register by using our Covent Garden address as the service address for one of your company officers.

When government mail does arrive (and any Court document), we will scan and email this to you (at no extra cost).

The VAT registration process – explained

As soon as your company has been formed, you will receive a questionnaire by email from us, where we will ask you to provide some additional information to allow us to complete your VAT registration application with HMRC.

We will then make your VAT registration application online. The timeline for the approval of new VAT registrations is subject to the information received and HMRC's workload, which can vary significantly.

Once HMRC has approved your company’s VAT registration, we will send your company’s VAT Registration Number to you by email. HMRC will then send your VAT Registration Certificate to you directly by post.

You must issue at least one share to form a limited company. If there is more than one shareholder, you must issue at least one share per person. A SIC code or Standard Industrial Classification code is used to categorise a company's business activity.
